Thank you to everyone who entered the John Betjeman Poetry competition.
In 3rd place was Caitlin from Year.8. Caitlin’s poem was entitled ‘Porthcawl, Wales’ and contained some lovely imagery: ‘seagulls squawking for the discarded chips’.
In 2nd place as Josh from Year.9 who wrote about London.Josh celebrates the noise of London and its differences to Calne: “How big is London, it never ends”.
In 1st place was Abi from Year.10. Abi wrote a beautiful poem about the sea: ‘diving through the waves […] their beauty unmatchable’. A truly worthy winner.
