Read books, give books!
Giving someone a book can mean so much. Why not give someone a book to celebrate World Book Night? It can be a well loved copy from your shelf or a shiny new one, bought for them specially, bursting with possibilities. Give it to a friend, a loved one, a colleague or a complete stranger and tell them what the book and reading means to you.
Visit your local bookshop and buy a book, or visit your library and borrow one
Good local bookshops and libraries are the most amazing places, treasure troves full of undiscovered gems with knowledgeable staff who can help you find a book on almost anything. So if you love books support your local bookshop or library too: explore their corners, buy or borrow something you wouldn’t normally read but might just love, attend an event and spread the word about how great they are.
Tell everyone you know about what reading means to you
Use good old word of mouth to tell people about what you’re reading now, what you’re favourite book is and how much you love reading. And use social media to spread the word even further. Last year 31 million people on twitter heard about World Book Night and we’re aiming to reach even more this year.
