Welcome to The Springfields Academy Literacy blog. On here there will be information about what’s happening at the academy relating to whole school literacy.

Ofsted believe that Literacy standards have dropped.

But here at The Springfields Academy, staff, pupils, parents and carers are working together to change this in order to improve literacy skills for all of us.

The lead Literacy/ English Staff continue to teach high quality lessons that focus on reading, writing and speaking and listening to ensure that pupils at the academy develop their literacy skills daily. The team work closely with all staff and parents to promote literacy. This term the focus is on reading. Not only are there many events to celebrate reading, but a new homework is also being introduced to encourage pupils to read more and to track how much they read.
